# How to Edit a Reconciled Transaction in COUNT

Made a mistake on a transaction that’s already been reconciled? No problem—COUNT allows users with the right permissions to make updates without needing to unreconcile the entire account.

### Steps to Edit a Reconciled Transaction

**Go to the Transactions Page**
* From the left-hand sidebar, click **Banking,** then **Transactions**.

**Find and Open the Transaction**
* Click on the transaction you’d like to edit.
* This opens a **flyout panel** on the right-hand side of the screen.

**Use Admin Override**
* If you have the **Accountant** or **Owner** role, you’ll see a button labeled:
**`Admin Override: Change Transaction`**
* Click this to unlock the fields for editing.

**Make Your Changes**
You can now edit:
* **Amount**
* **Date**
* **Description**
* **Customer or Vendor**
* **Category**
* Additional fields like **Tags**, **Notes**, or **Projects**

**Save Your Changes**
* Once you’re done, click **Save**. COUNT will update the transaction without affecting its reconciliation status.

### Unassign or Reassign an Invoice
If the transaction is tied to an invoice, you can make adjustments to the invoice as well:

###### To Unassign an Invoice
* In the flyout panel on the right side, click **Unassign Invoice**.

###### To Reassign the Invoice
1. Click into the **Category** field.
2. In the pop-up that appears, select the **Invoice Payment** tab.
3. Choose the relevant invoice.
4. Click **Apply Payment to Invoice** at the bottom.

| Pro-tip: You don’t need to unreconcile a transaction to make updates. As long as you have the right permissions, you can override and fix reconciled entries without breaking your books.
