How to Add People or Contractors in COUNT
In COUNT, contractors are handled slightly differently from traditional vendors to give you better tracking, tax reporting, and workforce management.
Understanding Contractors vs Vendors
When you add a Contractor in COUNT, you're not just creating a vendor record—you’re also creating a person profile that helps you manage compensation, tax information, and time tracking (if needed). Here’s how it works:
- Dual Record Creation: When you add a contractor, COUNT creates both a Vendor and a Contractor profile behind the scenes.
- Single Point of Management: Contractors can only be added or edited through the People & Contractors page for consistency and better workforce data handling.
- Redirect from Vendor Page: If you try to add a contractor from the Vendors page, COUNT will show a confirmation pop-up asking if you're sure you're adding a contractor. Once confirmed, you’ll be redirected to the correct page.
- Linked Access: After creation, your contractor will appear in both the People & Contractors list and the Vendor list—so you can assign bills, payments, and other transactions easily using the Vendor dropdown.
Steps to Add a Contractor
- Go to Contacts & Products in the left-side menu.
- Click on People & Contractors.
- Select Add New from the top right of the screen.

You'll now see a form where you can enter all relevant contractor information. Here’s a quick overview of what you’ll need:
Contact & Address Information
Add the contractor's basic information like name, email, phone number, and mailing address.
Worker Type
Choose Contractor as the worker type to correctly categorize them. You can also choose from Employee, Volunteer, Donor, or Other—but selecting the right category ensures accurate record-keeping.

Compensation & Tax Details
Input their position, pay type (hourly, salary), wage, and tax info. This is essential for reporting and compliance.
Notes (Optional)
Use the Notes section to store internal remarks or reminders related to the contractor.
Optional Workforce Features ($8/month per person)
If you want to unlock full workforce management for this contractor, toggle on any of the following features:
- Time Tracking (for logging work hours)
- Sales Representative (assign and track sales)
- Expense Claim Reporting (enable reimbursement workflows)
Final Step
Once everything is filled in, click the orange “Add” button at the bottom right to save your contractor. They will now appear in both your People & Contractors list and your Vendor list.
By managing your contractors through the People & Contractors page, COUNT gives you greater control over compliance, collaboration, and reporting—while keeping your vendor records perfectly in sync.
How to Resend Invitation Emails to Users
If a user hasn’t accepted their invitation to COUNT yet, you can easily resend the email to them.
- Navigate through the Left Sidebar
From the left sidebar, click Contacts & Products, then select People & Contractors. You’ll see a list of all people created in your workspace.
- Identify Invitation Status
In the Actions column:
- A green link icon means the user has already accepted their invitation and is connected.
- A green envelope icon means the invitation is still pending.
- Resend the Invitation
Click the green envelope icon to resend the invitation email to that user.

- Check User Status
Make sure the Active toggle in the same row is turned on — inactive users cannot receive invitations or use COUNT Go Mobile App.
