COUNT’s Launchpad provides an intuitive onboarding experience, helping you set up your workspace, import critical data, and get started efficiently. This guide will walk you through the onboarding steps in the correct sequence, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free setup process.
Step 1: How Do You Want to Get Started?
Begin your COUNT journey by deciding how you’d like to proceed. When you access the Launchpad, you can select Fresh Setup to start setting up your workspace from scratch. Alternatively, you can import from your previous accounting software in case of migration.
When you click on any of the migration options, select the cutover date and click Next. The cutover date determines the transition date, and data will only be imported till that date.
Step 2: Set Up Company Information
Fill in your company details to get started:
Business Email: Enter your business email address.
Bill Email: This auto-generated email (e.g., [email protected]) will be used to forward bills directly into COUNT.
Logo: Upload your company logo to personalize your workspace. (Max size: 5MB)
Click Next when you’re done.
Step 3: Connect QuickBooks (For QuickBooks Users Only)
If you’re using QuickBooks Online (QBO) there's an additional onboarding step. The below guidelines will help you connect your QBO account:
Click Connect to QuickBooks.
Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
Authorize COUNT to access your QuickBooks data.
Once connected, import your chart of accounts, customers, vendors, and other data seamlessly.
This ensures a smooth transition for QuickBooks users.
Step 3: Import Chart of Accounts
This step involves importing your chart of accounts to organize your financial data effectively. COUNT supports both manual uploads and integrations with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
File Upload: Upload a .csv or Excel file containing your chart of accounts.
Review Column Matching: COUNT will automatically map moyour file columns to its fields (e.g., Account Number, Account Name, Type, Sub-Type, and Description). In this step, you can still adjust them manually if needed, and select the correct columns for the ones not automatically mapped.
Review Row Matching: Check the rows of your chart of accounts to ensure accurate categorization and data integrity.
Import Data: Confirm and complete the import process.
Step 4: Import Contacts & Products
In this step, you’ll import key lists to populate your workspace:
Lists to Import: You can upload lists of:
Customers (including contact details and billing preferences).
Vendors (details for suppliers and business partners).
Products & Services (including pricing and inventory data).
File Upload: Upload your .csv or Excel files.
Review Column Mapping: Map the columns in your file to COUNT’s fields.
Confirm and Import: Verify the data before importing it into COUNT.
Pro Tip: Ensure your files are well-structured with clear headers to simplify the mapping process.
Click Next to continue.
Step 5: Connect Bank Accounts
Link your bank accounts to COUNT for real-time financial tracking:
Choose Your Bank: Select your bank from COUNT’s list of supported institutions.
Secure Connection: Use COUNT’s secure integration to log in and authorize access to your bank accounts.
Sync Transactions: COUNT will import recent transactions for review and categorization.
Pro Tip: You can connect multiple bank accounts for comprehensive financial tracking.
Click Next after successfully connecting your accounts.
Step 6: Import Historical Transactions
This step ensures continuity by importing past financial data:
File Upload: Upload a .csv or Excel file containing historical transaction data.
Map Data Fields: Match your file’s columns (e.g., Date, Amount, Account) to COUNT’s fields.
Review and Import: Confirm accuracy before importing the data.
Pro Tip: Historical data helps COUNT provide accurate insights and reports from day one.
Click Next to move forward.
Step 7: Invite Team Members & Bookkeepers
Collaborate effectively by adding your team to COUNT:
Add Team Members: Enter email addresses for your colleagues.
Assign Roles: Define user roles (e.g., Administrator, Accountant) to control access levels.
Send Invitations: Send invites and ensure team members accept them promptly.
In the case of Bookkeepers, users can only select from the list of Bookkeepers signed up with COUNT.
