COUNT understands that every business has unique needs. While the initial setup creates a Chart of Accounts with common accounts based on your business type, you may need to add additional accounts for specific purposes. This article will guide you through the two methods for manually adding accounts in COUNT.

Adding Individual Accounts:

  1. Navigate to the Accounts Section: Begin by going to the "Accounting" section of your COUNT dashboard. From there, select "Chart of Accounts."

  2. Click "Add Account" at the top right of the screen.

  3. Fill in Account Details: A window will appear allowing you to define your new account. Here, you can:

    • Select Account Type and Subtype: Choose the appropriate category for your account, such as "Assets" or "Expenses," and then further refine it with a subtype like "Cash" or "Marketing Expenses."

    • Enter Account Information: Provide a clear and descriptive name for your account. You can also assign a unique account number for easy reference. An optional description field allows you to provide additional details about the account's purpose.

    • Customize Account Color (Optional): For better visual organization, you can assign a specific color to your new account.

Importing Accounts from a File:

If you have a list of accounts already prepared in a CSV or Excel file, you can import them directly into COUNT to save time. Here's how:

  1. Access the Import Option: Click the arrow next to the "Add Account" button and select "Import Accounts."

  2. Upload Your File: Use the designated area to upload your CSV or Excel file containing your account information.

  3. Map File Headers: COUNT will display the headers from your uploaded file. Match these headers to the corresponding COUNT account fields, including:

    • Account Number

    • Account Name

    • Type

    • Sub-Type

  4. Review and Edit (Optional): After mapping the headers, COUNT will display a preview of all accounts with their corresponding fields. You can manually edit any information before finalizing the import.

By following these steps, you can easily add new accounts to your COUNT Chart of Accounts, ensuring your financial data is organized and reflects the specific needs of your business.
