Connecting Your Bank Account to COUNT

Connect your bank accounts to COUNT for seamless transaction syncing.

Managing finances efficiently requires accurate and up-to-date data. COUNT makes this process seamless by allowing you to connect your bank account directly. This article will guide you through the steps of connecting your bank and importing your transaction history into COUNT.

Benefits of Connecting Your Bank Account:

Connecting Your Bank Account:

  1. Navigate to Accounting > Chart of Accounts.

  2. Initiate Bank Connection: Click "Connect Bank" button on the top right of the screen.

  3. Follow Plaid's Instructions: COUNT utilizes Plaid, a secure and industry-standard platform, to facilitate the bank connection. Follow the on-screen instructions provided by Plaid to connect your bank account.

    For New Zealand-based users:

    COUNT allows connecting bank accounts via Akahu. Akahu works with more than 50 Government, corporate, and fintech organisations. Workspaces that have set their Country to "New Zealand" will automatically go through the Akahu flow. Users will have to add their emails, verify them via OTP and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect their banks.

Importing Transaction History:

Once you've successfully connected your bank account, COUNT will prompt you to choose the timeframe for importing your transaction history. Here are the options available:

  • None - This option skips importing any historical transactions. You can manually add them later if needed.

  • Last 90 days - This choice imports your transactions for the past 90 days.

  • Jan 1, (current year) - This option imports all your transactions since the beginning of the current year.

  • All - This selection imports all your historical transactions available, typically covering the last 24 months.

  • Click "Save" to Sync: Once you've chosen your preferred import timeframe, click the "Save" button to initiate the synchronization process. COUNT will securely import your transaction history, allowing you to effortlessly track your finances.

By connecting your bank account and importing your transactions, COUNT becomes a powerful financial management tool. With all your data in one place, you can easily categorize expenses, generate reports, and gain valuable insights to make informed financial decisions for your business.
