How to Configure Anchor Integration in COUNT Practice Manager

The Anchor integration in COUNT connects your proposal workflow with your client onboarding and project management. Once set up, COUNT can automatically create clients, workspaces, and tasks when a proposal is approved in Anchor—eliminating manual setup and helping you start client work instantly.

What This Integration Does

When properly configured, the Anchor integration can:

  • Automatically create a new client workspace in COUNT when a proposal is approved in Anchor
  • Trigger onboarding workflows immediately
  • Assign internal and client tasks based on the services included in the proposal
  • Map Anchor services to COUNT project templates

This allows your team to move from proposal approval to active work without manual intervention.

Step 1: Prepare Your Project Templates in COUNT

Before connecting Anchor, you should first create project templates for each service you offer.

  1. Go to Practice Manager → Templates

  1. Create templates for your services (for example: Bookkeeping, Advisory)

  1. Add any onboarding tasks you want included, such as: - Client-facing tasks - Internal team tasks

These templates will later be mapped to Anchor services.

Step 2: Connect Anchor to COUNT

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Open App Integrations
  3. Click Connect next to Anchor

Next, switch to Anchor:

  1. In Anchor, go to Integrations → API Keys

  1. Generate a new API key

Recommended name: COUNT

  1. Copy the API key (you will only see it once)

Return to COUNT:

  1. Paste the API key into the connection window
  2. Enter the email you use to log in to Anchor
  3. Click Connect

Your integration is now active.

Step 3: Configure Automation and Service Mapping

After connecting, click Manage on the Anchor integration to configure behavior.

You can enable:

  • Auto-create workspace when proposal is approved
  • Automatically trigger onboarding workflow when workspace is created

Next, map services:

  1. Select a service pulled from Anchor (these sync live)
  2. Choose the corresponding COUNT project template
  3. Repeat for each service you want automated
  4. Click Save

Now each Anchor service is linked to a specific COUNT workflow.

Step 4: How the Automation Works

Once configured:

  1. A proposal is created in Anchor
  2. Services are added to the proposal
  3. The proposal is approved

Within about 30 seconds, COUNT will automatically:

  • Create the client
  • Create their workspace
  • Assign onboarding tasks
  • Assign service-specific tasks

You can view this by going to Clients in COUNT and opening the client record. Under Tasks, you’ll see all generated tasks tied to the approved services.

Pro Tip: Keep your templates organized by service type and naming convention so it’s easy to maintain mappings as your offerings grow.

Important Notes

  • Anchor services sync live into COUNT. If you add a new service in Anchor, it will automatically appear in the mapping list.
  • API keys from Anchor are only visible once when generated. If lost, you’ll need to create a new one.
  • You can update mappings anytime without disconnecting the integration.

Using the Anchor integration reduces manual admin work, and keeps your team aligned from proposal to execution.
