How intercompany balances appear in COUNT consolidated reports
When you run the balance sheet across several workspaces in multi-entity reporting, balances between linked companies in your selection cancel each other out. The group doesn't owe itself money, so those balances don't appear in the consolidated totals.
This applies to the Due From and Due To balances that Intercompany creates on Loan links. To set up a link, see How to set up Intercompany workspaces in COUNT.
Example
Northwind Holdings has lent Northwind Coffee money, and $1,500.00 is still outstanding. Holdings shows a $1,500.00 Due From Northwind Coffee, and Coffee shows a $1,500.00 Due To Northwind Holdings.
Workspaces in your selection | What the consolidated balance sheet shows |
|---|---|
Holdings and Coffee | Neither balance. The $1,500.00 Due From and Due To cancel out. |
Holdings only | Holdings' $1,500.00 as a real receivable, which is correct, since Coffee is outside the group you're reporting on. |
If the consolidated balance sheet is out of balance
Unresolved drift between linked workspaces is the usual cause. This happens when one side's Due From no longer matches the other side's Due To, often because of a manual journal entry posted outside Intercompany.
- Click Check intercompany drift on the notice.
- Find the entry that was posted outside Intercompany and correct it.
- On the link's Drift tab, click Run Check Now to confirm the two sides agree again.

For more on drift and write-offs, see How to record and manage intercompany transactions in COUNT.
