How to Split a Transaction in COUNT
Sometimes, a single transaction might cover multiple categories—like a business lunch and office supplies on the same receipt. COUNT makes it easy to split one transaction into multiple parts with different categories.
Steps to Split a Transaction
Go to the Transactions Tab
- From the left sidebar, click on Transactions.
Select the Transaction You Want to Split
- Click on the relevant transaction to open the flyout panel on the right-hand side.
Click “Split Transaction”
- Scroll down to the Category section.
- Click the Split Transaction button.
Add Splits
- Add the separate amounts and choose a category for each.
- You can add as many splits as needed, as long as they sum up to the total transaction amount.
Save the Split
- Click Save to confirm the changes.
Now, each portion of the transaction will be categorized separately, while still being part of the same parent transaction. You’ll see these individual splits reflected directly in the Transactions table.
